Welcome to the website of the Walla Walla Road Runners!

Thanks for checking out our page. The Walla Walla Road Runners are not a club but a large group of runners who love to train, compete and socialize together. You do not have to be a member to join us, just come run. If you’d like to join our list serve please click the link above and receive announcements and updates as they come in.

The primary purpose of the WWRR web page is to help everyone find the run you are looking. We help you find a running group or event through our calendars. You can see a quick upcoming events calendar to the right of this message. You can also go to our full Google calendar by clicking on the Calendar link at the top of this page. On both calendars you will find all the running options that have been reported to us. There are options for every level runner from beginners to advanced. Check out the date links to the right or use the Google calendar to see who the contacts person is for each day or the web location you can use to find out more details.

On our calendars you will primarily see the events in and around the Walla Walla Valley. Even though we are primarily a running group we will include many different events like Triathlons, Duathlons, and relays to name a few. We define the Walla Walla Valley as the area in which you would likely drive to an event the morning of. Examples would be the Tri-Cities WA, Pendelton OR, Lewiston ID. We also hope to create a page with links to races and events outside the Walla Walla Valley and primarily in the Northwest. We will focus on the larger events and especially the races that our own road runners are in.

If you have a group that meets to go on runs and you would like to open it up to others in town please let us know so we can post your information on the calendar. Also, if you are an event organizer in the Walla Walla Valley please let us know the details of your event and we will get it on the calendar.

  1. Providence St. Mary is hosting an program called Heart to Start. It is a 13 week training program geared to motivate those who do little exercise and or are recovering from a heart or other injury by training to run or walk a 5K. The program is free and includes an opening presentation on June 14 from 6- pm at the Courtyard Walla Walla Marriott. There are weekly workouts lead by a nurse practitioner every Tuesday from 6-pm , June 21- Sept 13. Each registrant receives the book Heart to Start and a t-shirt. Participants are encouraged to sign up for a local 5K – but Providence Foundation has a fundraising 5K called the Grand Fondo on September 24 that coincides perfectly with the training program.
